Changes in Airline Travel
Since the 9-11 terrorists attacks, airline travel has changed considerably.
The general rule is to arrive early, since it takes longer to check in, and
screen each passenger. Bring only one carry-on bag, and one person item, such as
a briefcase or purse.
The Transportation Security Administration recommends that you do not pack
any
prohibited items. Avoid wearing anything containing metal, as it will set off
the metal detectors. Store all undeveloped film in your carry-on baggage, and don't
forget to label your laptop computer, as it is one of the most forgotten items at the screening
checkpoint. The TSA recommends shipping gifts ahead of time instead of taking
wrapped presents. If the package sets off the alarms, the screeners will require
the gift to be unwrapped.
